The Tailstrike plugin

The Tailstrike plugin is a small desktop application. It connects your simulator to the network. It is the most important part of Tailstrike. It records your flights, it sends your live panel, it records your landings, and it carries the state of an aircraft to the next pilot.

How to install it

  • The plugin operates on Windows.
  • Download the installer and run it: TSPlugin-win-Setup.exe. The plugin updates itself automatically. Therefore you install it one time only.

How to pair it to your account

  • Open your settings and make a pairing token.
  • Put the token into the settings of the plugin one time.
  • The plugin keeps the token. Therefore you pair one time only. You can make a new token, or cancel the token, at each moment.

What the plugin does

  • It records each flight directly from the simulator, online or offline. You do not need to be a member of a network.
  • It sends your live panel: the altitude, the speed, the heading, the fuel, the flaps and the gear. These values appear in real time on your lease page and your hangar.
  • It records your landing: the touchdown rate in feet each minute, and the maximum G value. The flight page shows them in colors.
  • It records the weather at the departure and at the arrival.
  • It shows your lease and your assignment: your active lease, and your Intelligent Dispatch assignment with its briefing. You can also request an assignment from the plugin.
  • It carries the aircraft state forward: Tailstrike keeps the fuel and the parking position at your shutdown, on the aircraft, for the next pilot. On supported aircraft it also keeps cockpit state, for example the radio frequencies and the transponder code. This makes the shared world continuous.
  • It can launch and align your simulator (Supporter): one click starts X-Plane in your leased aircraft, at its position. On MSFS, the plugin aligns the state of your aircraft when you are in a flight.
Note
The plugin connects to MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, P3D and FSX with SimConnect. It connects to X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 12 directly. See Landing rate & weather for the exact data of each flight.
